We have been wanting to go for the Istana open house during SAF50 event but unfortunately PapaTan did not managed to obtain the tickets. Who knows Teri messaged us today asking us if we will wish to take over their tickets as Alex is down with fever. (Speedy recovery Alex~) Since we do not have any activity in the afternoon, we decided to take the offer as it will be our first time there for all of us.

There is a long queue awaiting to enter the Istana and we are glad that SAF have provided a priority lane where baby is also one of the criteria for express queue. The wait took us lesser than 15 minutes before we enter the venue. The garden is so huge and we have to walk for another 10-15 minutes before we arrive at the exhabition area. There are some food stall vendors such as old chang kee and go go frank selling some snacks. Amazingly some of the visitors actually bring along a picnic mat as they laze on the grasspatch by the pond. Seriously who will do something like that at Istana man! Gosh.

There is this beautiful rainbow appearing after the rain and we started snapping photographs with it. It has been a long while since i last saw a full obvious rainbow around. Its so so so pretty.

Took this shot after we exited the building as it starts to drizzle a little. Do not want Morris to fall sick again since he has just recovered from cold. Totally adore their look.

The foc shoot available at the exhibition area. We picked Tank because we know papaTan affiliate with it! Great memories and great exposure for the day.

The durian feast organized by NYK's SRC committee this year is held under the office building. Apparently, they have ordered close to about 200 kg of durian for consumption and they are seriously very yummy. I was kind of sick and i had to control my intake of durian as it is really heaty. I took about 5 seeds and i actually feel satisfied from eating them!

Staycation at Capri Fraser at Changi City Point

The impromptu staycation with Teri and Alex!

This is our second time at the Capri Fraser at Changi City Point.  I believe the best part of this hotel is that it comes with a en-suite kitchenette that you can prepare your meals.  In addition, we were able to request for baby cot and seat without any additional cost.  This is unlike most of the hotels whereby they need to charge you for baby cot.  We were very happy with such friendly child services!  Thumbs up.

Honestly, we were kind of disappointed of the room this time.  The promotion this time round, wasn't as good as the one that Paul have booked previously.  The previous room was much bigger in size, came with coffee machine, came with an addition desk area.  This time round, the room was maybe 10square meters smaller, but i must say, it did not affect our mood for this wonderful staycation!

This time round, it was not just the two of us.  Teri and Alex saw our staycation attempts often, and decided to go on a double staycation date with us.  We pretty much felt that this experience was good, you can see all the happy faces from everyone of us.  We believe that we will have more staycation date to go!

Next, it came to the best part of the staycation.  The cooking of our dinner.  We went to the nearby NTUC Extra to shop for our groceries.   This time round, Mama and Papa tended to get abit creative in their cooking.  Mama was going to cook grilled salmon with home-made tomato source, while papa felt that his signature pork chops were not sufficient and he decided to do up a bacon roll and grilled prawns for today's dinner.  Teri and Alex decided to show-off their signature Bah Kau Tek for both families.  We ended up with over a hundred dollars worth of groceries, inclusive of a white wine and 2 cans of beer for the Tan Family.

Back to our room, we separated into our respective teams and began to wield out our signature dishes.  The whole cooking process  took about 2 hours or so.  But i must say that the wait was definitely worth while.  All the food were like, aweeeeesome.  Look at our photos and please don't let your saliva dripped onto your keyboard please.  it's for your own good.  Personally, Mama was very proud over the salmon and Papa was proud over his creativity for the bacon dishes.  Shortly after we took the photos, we begun feasting!

Overall, happy staycation.  Looking forward to the next event.  Am currently looking at Novotel Batam for the long weekend!  Ciao ciao.
