P.S: After adding all the stuff i wanted to buy from Amazon, i realized i am actually entitled for free Amazon International Shipping since i have purchased more than USD $125. And so, i decided to order these myself. :)
I am fortunately to have Cindy to share this spree-ing moment with me so that i can buy some things for our precious and myself after delivery at a cheaper price. The items were so cheap as compared to Singapore and definitely a good way to save some money on.

The excitement grows as i begin to feel the subtle movement by our precious.
The movement feels so subtle that it is almost doesn't feel like a movement but my stomach growling. haha! But as the days passed, the movement gets stronger and more frequent. Just last night i have problem sleeping because he has been very active in my stomach at 1am. I am seriously not kidding that he affects my sleep. HAHA! Glad to feel the magical moment with our precious. Counting down in about 3 months more. :) I am currently approaching my 23 weeks of pregnancy. All has been pretty stable and my eating habits seems to improve from my 1st trimester's always hungry condition. Now i can eat just one main course and survive till next tea break or meal which is a good sign for Paul Sir as he doesn't need to accompany me to eat as much as how we did in 1st trimester. haha!
Stomach is getting bigger day by day and i begin to feel our precious movement. Very subtle but if we are patient enough, we can feel the movement. Bit by bit. :) I have gained about 7kg so far since pregnancy and im hoping that it is still within the acceptable range though. #Fingercrossed I have just went for my detailed scan during week 20 at TMC and was told that i am having pretty slow blood flow to our precious. Dr Tham mentioned that this is not a serious matter and it is quite common among pregnant mommies but i do not see it from the rest of my pregnant friends. In pregnancy, coagulation, platelet function and clotting factors are all affected due to hormonal changes. I was prescribed with Aspirin to help to ease and prevent blood clotting in the deep veins. This also means that i am unable undergo any cuts or fall as the blood will be thinner and oozing out ALOT which may be pretty hard to stop as well. I was also told to move around as frequently as i can. No more sitting down or standing up for long hours as it is going to affect our precious. Dr Tham mentioned that we do not need to worry as things are under controlled. Looking forward to our gynae visit next week! :) Ciao Ciao My recent food craving is DURIANS!!!!! Been seeing many of my friends posted on Facebook as it is the season for awesome durians. Too bad that i won't be able to eat too many of it as the fruit contains high sugar level and definitely a good booster if baby is small or underweight. As for me, having to gain like 6kg already, should have some control over it. Haha! HOW CAN I CONTROL THIS TEMPTATION???
Saw this interesting article online! :)
Important Infant Sleep FactsIn order to better understand the how-to’s of getting you and your baby to enjoy going to sleep and staying asleep, here are some important principles of sleep that every new parent needs to understand. 1. How you sleep. After dressing or undressing for bed, most adults help themselves relax for sleep by performing various bedtime rituals: reading, listening to music, watching TV, or having sex. As you drift into sleep, your higher brain centers begin to rest; enabling you to enter the stage of deep sleep called “non-REM” (non-rapid eye movement — NREM), or deep sleep (also called quiet sleep). Your mind and body are quietest during this stage of sleep. Your body is still, your breathing is shallow and regular, your muscles are loose, and you’re really “zonked.” After about an hour and a half in this quiet sleep stage, your brain begins to “wake up” and start working, which brings you out of your deep sleep and into light sleep or active sleep, called rapid eye movement or “REM” sleep. During this stage of sleep your eyes actually move under your eyelids as your brain exercises. You dream and stir, turn over, and may even adjust the covers without fully awakening. It is during this sleep stage that you may fully awaken to go to the bathroom, then return to bed and fall back into a deep sleep. These alternating cycles of light and deep sleep continue every couple hours throughout the night, so that a typical adult may spend an average of six hours in quiet sleep and two hours in active sleep. Thus, you do not sleep deeply all night, even though you may feel as though you do. 2. How your infant sleeps. You’re rocking, walking, or nursing your baby and her eyelids droop as she begins to nod off in your arms. Her eyes close completely, but her eyelids continue to flutter and her breathing is still irregular. Her hands and limbs are flexed, and she may startle, twitch, and show fleeting smiles, called “sleep grins.” She may even continue a flutter-like sucking. Just as you bend over to deposit your “sleeping” baby in her crib so you can creep quietly away, she awakens and cries. That’s because she wasn’t fully asleep. She was still in the state of light sleep when you put her down. Now try your proven bedtime ritual again, but continue this ritual longer (about twenty more minutes). You will notice that baby’s grimaces and twitches stop; her breathing becomes more regular and shallow, her muscles completely relax. Her fisted hands unfold and her arms and limbs dangle weightlessly. Martha and I call this “limp-limb” sign of deep sleep. Baby is now in a deeper sleep, allowing you to put her down and sneak away, breathing a satisfying sigh of relief that your baby is finally resting comfortably. NIGHTTIME PARENTING LESSON #1:Babies need to be parented to sleep, not just put to sleep. Some babies can be put down while drowsy yet still awake and drift others need parental help by being rocked or nursed to sleep. The reason is that while adults can usually go directly into the state of deep sleep, infants in the early months enter sleep through an initial period of light sleep. After twenty minutes or more they gradually enter deep sleep, from which they are not so easily aroused. As you probably know from experience, if you try to rush your baby to bed while she is still in the initial light sleep period, she will usually awaken. Many parents tell me: “My baby has to be fully asleep before I can put her down.” In later months, some babies can enter deep sleep more quickly, bypassing the lengthy light sleep stage. Learn to recognize the stages your infant sleeps in. Wait until your baby is in a deep sleep stage before transitioning her from one sleeping place to another, such as from your bed to a crib or from carseat to bed or crib. 3. Babies have shorter sleep cycles than you do.Stand adoringly next to your sleeping baby and watch him sleep. About an hour after he goes to sleep, he begins to squirm, he tosses a bit, his eyelids flutter, his face muscles grimace, he breathes irregularly, and his muscles tighten. He is reentering the phase of light sleep. The time of moving from deep to light sleep is a vulnerable period during which many babies will awaken if any upsetting or uncomfortable stimulus, such as hunger, occurs. If the baby does not awaken, he will drift through this light sleep period over the next ten minutes, and descend back into deep sleep. Adult sleep cycles (going from light to deep sleep, and then back to light sleep) lasts an average of 90 minutes. Infant sleep cycles are shorter, lasting 50 to 60 minutes, so they experience a vulnerable period for nightwaking around every hour or even less. As your baby enters this light sleep, if you lay a comforting hand on your baby’s back, sing a soothing lullaby, or just be there next to baby if he is in your bed; you can help him get through this light sleep period without waking. NIGHTTIME PARENTING LESSON #2:Some babies need help getting back to sleep. Some “resettlers” or “self-soothers” can go through this vulnerable period without completely awakening, and if they do wake up, they can ease themselves back into a deep sleep. Other babies need a helping hand, voice, or breast to resettle back into deep sleep. From these unique differences in sleep cycle design, we learn that one of the goals of nighttime parenting is to create a sleeping environment that helps baby go through this vulnerable period of nightwaking and reenter deep sleep without waking up. 4. Babies don’t sleep as deeply as you do.Not only do babies take longer to go to sleep and have more frequent vulnerable periods for nightwaking; they have twice as much active, or lighter, sleep as adults. At first glance, this hardly seems fair to parents tired from daylong baby care. Yet, if you consider the developmental principle that infants sleep the way they do — or don’t — for a vital reason, it may be easier for you to understand your baby’s nighttime needs and develop a nighttime parenting style that helps rather than harms the natural infant sleep rhythms. Here’s where I’m at odds with modern sleep trainers who advise a variety of gadgets and techniques designed to help baby sleep more deeply through the night — for a price, and perhaps at a risk. Well, i know i have been gone for quite a while. The life of me and the precious is working out perfectly fine. The vomiting and nauseous symptoms have come to an end. Bloatedness of stomach seems better than how it was during the 1st trimester. Appetite is growing quite scarily as i will be hungry almost every 2-3 hours break. So far from the last gynae visit in Apr till today, i have gained almost 2 kg. Have still been eating whatever i want and adding cereal with milk in my list of food choices now. The bump is getting pretty obvious now and most of my dresses are rather tight which is causing discomfort. No choice, i have to ziplock those clothes up till child birth and till then, i will see if i am able to fit in them again. Gynae visit with Uncle Tham went well, precious is healthy and also, we found out that precious is a baby boy! Hahaha, speaking about the myth of the family, 100% of those gender guessing revolving around me are saying that precious will definitely be a baby boy. Ohgosh and indeed baby boy! It is so funny when uncle tham scan the 屁股 and immediately see the bird bird at the bottom. HAHAHAHA! how epic!
Although i have been thinking having a baby girl will be more fun because we can dress her up and keep long hair of many styles, i think baby boy will be nice as well. Just need to have some adjusting that i will not be able to have fanciful in shades of pink and purple. hahahah! Today is our second visit with Dr Benjamin Tham. For today's visit, we can see baby precious's being a baby stage rather than the previous time when baby precious is still an embryo. Show you guys the progression! :) It is really amazing to be seeing the hands and legs being soooooo obvious in the scan where you know that baby precious is growing well. :)
I decided to write down how i have been feeling during the 1st trimester so that i can always refer to when i decided to share about how mommy feels during the process of pregnancy and carrying our precious. I guess i am consider one of the more fortunate ones whom do not face much morning sickness as compared to the many other mommies-to-be who have been vomiting whole day long.
BLOATED-NESS What irritates me the most is the bloated-ness of the stomach as i am suppose to take 6 small meals instead of 3 normal meals. But the issue is that i am unable to gauge what portion does it means as smaller meals. :( Before pregnancy, i have not been eating alot and definitely considered as one of the small-eater among my fellow colleagues. Now with similar portions, it gives me bloated-ness and makes me feel really uncomfortable for many hours. I have taken eno and 100+ to ease my indigestion and to help me to burp a little. Tried Gaviscon double action liquid but i totally dread the taste of it and i feel like vomiting after consuming it. CHANGE OF CHOICE OF FOOD INTAKE My choice of food moved along the chain to something more heavy flavored. I will always crave for spicy / tom yum / curry related food. No longer the lover for fish soup or porridge though. So far i have been eating on moderation and have no food restriction since Dr. Tham has given me the green light to eat whatever i want as long as i keep to moderation. And i used to be mushroom-lover but now i dread the taste of eating mushrooms. I am glad i still love to take fruits and vegetables which are really good nutrient to our precious. I have packed some good snacks such as raisins and food bar in my bag just in case i get really hungry as well! ENERGY LEVEL I have to admit that i am no longer active like how i used to be. I don't really feel like exercising nowadays as i feel mentally tired out. Especially that i have to work for about 8 hours a day facing the computer and deal with some of the planning process that requires plenty of brain-storming. On some of the days, i can just fall asleep at 9pm till the next morning which i have never been like this before pregnancy. On weekends, i will just feel like bed rest and not doing anything. This is how tired i am during first trimester. TEMPER (HORMONES CHANGED) I think as the energy level drops, the patience level i used to have, drops as well. Sometimes i just cannot be bothered with some of the things that happened around me. I tends to tear non-stop when i watched those drama-mama show nowadays. Feel extremely grumpy when i am hungry and there isn't food available for me. SUPPORT I think this is the most important thing i needed during the 1st trimester. It is the support from your loved ones. For my case, as we had yet to announce to our families. It is the tender loving care from my Paul Sir that keeps me going and definitely knowing that having our precious is the most important event that has happened to us. It is our precious. :) P.S: Thank you hubby for always being there for me when i needed you the most. i know that i have been pretty unreasonable to you but i appreciate you for who you are. :)))) Second appointment to see gynae and we booked Dr Benjamin Tham. He has been the doctor that the recent motherhood forums been raving all about. And yes, he did not disappoint us. We felt that he is a very kind doctor and we felt that we are able to trust him. He is very patient as well in explaining everything to us, even apologies to me as he knows he is pressing my tummy a little harder so to firm up the image. Something i like about Dr. Tham's clinic is that we are able to get all images of our scans as long as we provide the thumb-drive for them to copy for us. Let me introduce our precious who is now 9 weeks and 2 days old. Our precious is now 24.7mm big and i always joke around to say that our precious is even smaller than a logan but can make me feel sooooo bloated stomach!!! At this point, the scan is able to scan for heart-beat which really worries me prior the appointment. As i have been reading on quite a number of sad cases and i know i shouldn't be reading so much on it. Upon seeing the red dot, everything within me settles down. :) Dr. Tham mentioned that our precious is having normal pulses which is positive and prescript me with multi-vitamins, fishoil and calcium pills for consumption. This will make our precious stronger and smarter! Haha. The total bill with the medicines and scanning is still cheaper as compared to our first visit with Dr. Edward Kenneth Lee though. We are really excited about our precious. Next's up will be the oscar's scan! :)
