Today is our second visit with Dr Benjamin Tham. For today's visit, we can see baby precious's being a baby stage rather than the previous time when baby precious is still an embryo. Show you guys the progression! :) It is really amazing to be seeing the hands and legs being soooooo obvious in the scan where you know that baby precious is growing well. :)

I decided to write down how i have been feeling during the 1st trimester so that i can always refer to when i decided to share about how mommy feels during the process of pregnancy and carrying our precious. I guess i am consider one of the more fortunate ones whom do not face much morning sickness as compared to the many other mommies-to-be who have been vomiting whole day long.
BLOATED-NESS What irritates me the most is the bloated-ness of the stomach as i am suppose to take 6 small meals instead of 3 normal meals. But the issue is that i am unable to gauge what portion does it means as smaller meals. :( Before pregnancy, i have not been eating alot and definitely considered as one of the small-eater among my fellow colleagues. Now with similar portions, it gives me bloated-ness and makes me feel really uncomfortable for many hours. I have taken eno and 100+ to ease my indigestion and to help me to burp a little. Tried Gaviscon double action liquid but i totally dread the taste of it and i feel like vomiting after consuming it. CHANGE OF CHOICE OF FOOD INTAKE My choice of food moved along the chain to something more heavy flavored. I will always crave for spicy / tom yum / curry related food. No longer the lover for fish soup or porridge though. So far i have been eating on moderation and have no food restriction since Dr. Tham has given me the green light to eat whatever i want as long as i keep to moderation. And i used to be mushroom-lover but now i dread the taste of eating mushrooms. I am glad i still love to take fruits and vegetables which are really good nutrient to our precious. I have packed some good snacks such as raisins and food bar in my bag just in case i get really hungry as well! ENERGY LEVEL I have to admit that i am no longer active like how i used to be. I don't really feel like exercising nowadays as i feel mentally tired out. Especially that i have to work for about 8 hours a day facing the computer and deal with some of the planning process that requires plenty of brain-storming. On some of the days, i can just fall asleep at 9pm till the next morning which i have never been like this before pregnancy. On weekends, i will just feel like bed rest and not doing anything. This is how tired i am during first trimester. TEMPER (HORMONES CHANGED) I think as the energy level drops, the patience level i used to have, drops as well. Sometimes i just cannot be bothered with some of the things that happened around me. I tends to tear non-stop when i watched those drama-mama show nowadays. Feel extremely grumpy when i am hungry and there isn't food available for me. SUPPORT I think this is the most important thing i needed during the 1st trimester. It is the support from your loved ones. For my case, as we had yet to announce to our families. It is the tender loving care from my Paul Sir that keeps me going and definitely knowing that having our precious is the most important event that has happened to us. It is our precious. :) P.S: Thank you hubby for always being there for me when i needed you the most. i know that i have been pretty unreasonable to you but i appreciate you for who you are. :)))) Second appointment to see gynae and we booked Dr Benjamin Tham. He has been the doctor that the recent motherhood forums been raving all about. And yes, he did not disappoint us. We felt that he is a very kind doctor and we felt that we are able to trust him. He is very patient as well in explaining everything to us, even apologies to me as he knows he is pressing my tummy a little harder so to firm up the image. Something i like about Dr. Tham's clinic is that we are able to get all images of our scans as long as we provide the thumb-drive for them to copy for us. Let me introduce our precious who is now 9 weeks and 2 days old. Our precious is now 24.7mm big and i always joke around to say that our precious is even smaller than a logan but can make me feel sooooo bloated stomach!!! At this point, the scan is able to scan for heart-beat which really worries me prior the appointment. As i have been reading on quite a number of sad cases and i know i shouldn't be reading so much on it. Upon seeing the red dot, everything within me settles down. :) Dr. Tham mentioned that our precious is having normal pulses which is positive and prescript me with multi-vitamins, fishoil and calcium pills for consumption. This will make our precious stronger and smarter! Haha. The total bill with the medicines and scanning is still cheaper as compared to our first visit with Dr. Edward Kenneth Lee though. We are really excited about our precious. Next's up will be the oscar's scan! :)
We decided to head to Mt A for the hospital visit and at the same time, arrange our first gynae appointment with Dr Edward Kenneth Lee since he is located in Mt A. Dr Lee has been in the gynae industry for many years and have been known as Mr. Humble and Mr. Friendly. Upon arrival, we see plenty of babies photos and thank you card filling the walls. Next, we hear the laughter from the couples and Dr Lee in the room. Paul Sir registered the account for me with the clinic while i sit and wait at the couch. Finally it is our turn to see Dr Lee and he was checking with us the basic information like where you work, how old are you all and etc. I believe is to generate topic and to make you feel comfortable with him. We tried to scan for the precious one but unfortunately i have too much gas in the stomach, we have to do a virginal scoop to scan it instead. Being 6 weeks in pregnancy is about seeing the fertile egg and ensuring that it is within the womb so the precious one can grow and this is what we are looking for when we do the scanning. Told Dr Lee that i am having terrible bloat in the stomach and it has been making me really uncomfortable. I was advised to take 6 multiple small meals instead of 3 usual meals to ease this situation and i was given hormones pill to adjust the hormones and to make me feel better.
The first consultation cost us $280. Dr Lee's consultation is slightly on the steeper side as compared to Dr Tham. The rate that Dr Lee is charging for Natural delivery a lot higher as well. After some discussion with Paul Sir, we decided to book an appointment with Dr Tham to see which gynae is better. Hoping to see the precious one's heartbeat during the second scan. :) Well, we are still pretty overwhelmed over the news that i am pregnant. Being first time parents and definitely a pair of inexperienced ones, there was so much that we had to research on.. Things like what to do first, what to buy and what decisions we need to make, etc. We are still holding back the piece of good news because we hope to visit the gynae, gather some information and be absolutely sure that the precious is fine and healthy before we release the news. We know that our friends and family will be excited for us as well.
