After much consideration and forum discussion with fellow mommy friends of mine, i decided to give the "green light" for placenta encapsulation. There are many benefits of consuming the placenta but these are just myths where there is no true facts or medical records with regards.

Benefits of Placenta consumption includes:
  • Prevention of Post Partum Depression (PPD)
  • Speeds up recovery after birth
  • Stops Post Partum bleeding faster (Lochia)
  • Contracts uterus faster
  • Promotes Breast milk Production
  • Improvement of complexion
I was thinking that this may be the only chance that i ever can or will consume a placenta and what if that the benefits are real? I may be missing out on the advantages then. Spoken to PapaTan about it and he agrees with it as long as it is handled by a safe source and is safe for consumption. Went online to research for a few vendors and decided to shortlist Acaringmum to assist in placenta encapsulation.  Felt safe to let a doula to handle the process since she has the love and heart for mommies and babies. There is a fixed charges of $300 Nett for the encapsulation and the number of capsules varies on the size of the placenta. The contacting point and the collection is rather prompt where Linda has managed to collect the placenta within 1 hour from delivery.

Placenta was processed and the capsules were delivered on the 6th Nov and it is when i have started consuming the capsules since 6th Nov and will be able to count how many capsules i have when i finished them. Unfortunately there is no latter to do a comparison for but i will rather choose to believe it then not. There is no taste with regards to the capsule and i consume it together with my fish oil, VCO and vitamins. So far so good where i am slowly building up on my supply.

Happy popping the happy pill~

False Alarm for babyTan's arrival.

Middle of the night, mommyKwan found out some blood taint discharge while peeing and quickly informed papaTan about it. We decided to give Uncle Tham a call in the morning to check if we need to head straight down for a check since i am already 38+6 days.

Couldn't sleep well in the night as i feel rather uneasy about the blood discharge. Keep waiting up to monitor baby movement and also, just in case if there is any contraction or water bag burst. First thing in the morning while the clinic opens, i called and was told to head straight down to TMC's delivery ward to conduct some testing, particularly on baby's heartbeat. As we rushed to the hospital, we were pretty lost as we do not know what to expect from the nurses. We were told that i will be placed on CTG scan to monitor if there is any contraction. In additional, the nurse will do a check if i have dilated or not.

The nurse mentioned that there is no contraction and i have yet dilated. Somehow babyTan is still comfortable in my stomach and has yet decided to pop out yet. Haha! The nurse reported the situation to Uncle Tham and i was subsequently discharged from the hospital. Hospital bill came up to about $60 over dollars for a peace of mind. The nurse mentioned that the cervix is currently closed but will open any time soon. Hopefully by the next appointment on Saturday. :)))

BabyTan, papa & mama are waiting for you :D

Research on Stage 1 Formula Milk.

Despite having the intention to fully breastfeed babyTan, we do understand that everyone might not be able to have the supply to cater sufficiently to baby's demand. We decided to head to NTUC Fairprice to check on the Stage 1 Formula milk available in the market. As there are quite a number of brands available, we realize it will be easier to use the one that TMC uses. This is to ensure that the milk is suitable for baby's consumption. Let's just hope that the supply is able to meet demand and we do not need to depend on Formula milk (if possible).

Lunch Buffet @ Cafebiz with fellow lovely mommies.

Arranged a lunch buffet session with fellow 13 pregnant mommies at Cafebiz as there is a 1-1 credit card promotion going on. It may be the last makan session for some of the mommies before we popped! A good sit and chat session for many of us as we truly appreciate one another existence during the whole pregnancy process. In fact,  there are already 2 mommies who are delivering the next day. haha! Bless them for smooth labor process please!

The buffet spread cost about $28 per pax after the 1-1 promotion. The range available is pretty decent but just lacking on the salmon sashimi. How awesome it will be if they cater salmon sashimi though! Sidenote, the cook food range are tasty as well! Overall, feel that it is value for money for this buffet spread. Manage to take an extra complimentary parking coupon and hoping to bring PapaTan along for lunch buffet :)

We head to Toyogo Warehouse at TPY to buy the cabinet for usage during confinement at my house. This is the first time that i head to the Warehouse and was surprised by the crowd at this industrial area. Managed to grab the cabinet at $40 which is about $15 cheaper as compared to the ones selling in NTUC Fairprice. Definitely a good effort to head over to the warehouse since the price difference is quite huge. Believe the 5 tier drawers will be sufficient to put babyTan's clothing and necessities. :)

Was telling daddy that i crave for crabs and he immediately agree to cook them for me before my delivery! Heard from mommy that early morning he rushed to market to search for crabs and he even took the effort to chill the crab to ensure that the freshness of the crab is maintained. Love daddy to the max! <3

Requested Chilli Crab for the menu and daddy cooked 2 versions of the chilli crab, one of which is a little more spicy as compared to the latter. I love the original version while papaTan loves the spicy version instead. The crabs were so tasty that i had 2 crabs and i only stopped when i felt full. HAHA!

Was recommended by Jane that the Ang Ku Kueh  at Borobudur snacks shop is really good. Since we were heading home for dinner and the snack shop is located in Bedok North, we decided to pop by to purchase 1 box to try. If it is really good, we will buy that for babyTan's first month!

The AKK looks really pretty with the nice prints on them and look very filling. From the look of it, definitely very worthy for 70 cents a piece. I am never a fan of AKK so i will take the feedback given by parents and papaTan.They were very impressed by the AKK and were raving with good feedback that the AKK is very fresh, skin is thin and is filled with lots of filling which is very smooth and soft.  Went online to google a little more and realize that the shop is famous for their nonya delights as well! One of which is my favorite Oneh Oneh!!!! :D

Requested the papaTan to grab Mao Shan Wang ice cream from udders since he is heading to Thomson for lunch with his uni friends. Told papaTan to try to buy the cone back as well as i remember how delicious the cone is when i met the Mommies for dinner at Novena. Smart papaTan went to buy a pint the MSW ice cream with a takeaway cone and let me scoop at home to ensure that i get to enjoy the best of both. Thank you papaTan & thanks babyTan for craving of the ice cream. :D

Pretty much guessing that we will be taking up Stemcord, for its great price promotion as well as the following benefits.

1.  2 storage locations.
2.  All the various insurance payout given to ensure their quality.
3.  Tons of vouchers to be given to us.

Nonetheless, we just hope to give babytan the insurance for him from the day he born, till the day of his 21st birthday!

Gynae Appointment @ Week 36+.

10/11/2014

Hello Babytan, we just headed to the clinic to see uncle Tham again today. I was a little paranoid the day before as i was worried over your health and weight. Still remembering what uncle Tham has mentioned 1.5 weeks ago that you ain't big to begin with. He has diagnosed that you are genetically a smaller healthy baby in comparison as your weight has yet crossed 2 kg on week 35. This weight of yours is a little upsetting for mommy as i have gained 10 kg back then to facilitate your growth.

At the same time, uncle Tham has given the green light for me to indulge in all kinds of food such as ice cream and durians as he is not controlling my diet. So from that day onwards, mommy has been eating all kind of awesome good and have grew another 1 kg over the past 1.5 weeks. See how much both YOU & I have grown.
Picture
As we begin the scan to check on your head growth, uncle Tham say it is good size. Then we proceed to the stomach, the first reading he gave was 2.4 kg. Both papatan and i were kinda shocked as we did not expect such a growth of 500g in 1.5 weeks. So uncle Tham decided to redo the readings for a couple more times and said that the smallest should be about 2.2 kg, so it means that you are ranging 2.2-2.4kg.

This is definitely a piece of good news to us as you have crossed the 2kg mark. :) And uncle Tham has not mentioned anything about inducing you where he continues to fix another appointment 1 week from now.

Till then, i will continue to indulge in good food and make you a chubby boy when you deliver.
