Went back home to bring the parents for dinner. Decided to try the new zichar stall downstairs. Glad that parents enjoyed the dinner. Glad to know that parents are coping well over at the new environment and of course, they are a lot happier now. :)

The man came by my office to fetch me off for dinner. Was originally suppose to try a cafe in Tanjong Pagar but we decided to travel around for other cuisine instead. So driving from Tanjong Pagar to Joo Chiat to Stadium and finally, we settled for this at Sims Way - Heng Kee House Of Steamed Fish because i feel like eating CRAB! Famous for their steamed fish and crab beehoon. Awesome taste at great price. Best of all, no gst and service charge! Definitely recommended for family gathering!
The Crab Bee Hoon raving online is really delicious where the bee hoon acts as an excellent medium for absorbing all the flavours of the stock and ingredients! Each mouthful of the savoury beehoon mixed with crab roe was so yummy! The crab here is solid and Paul sir agrees to it as well. It is so much better than the Mellben Seafood's crab man! The pincers were so full that Paul Sir had a hard time separating the meat from the shell. After rushing around to run errands for the day, went home to pick my parents to Bedok for dinner. Haven been to Bedok 85 for quite awhile. Glad to be eating the same old comfort food that i have been eating during my poly days. The 汤圆 still taste awesome! I believe i will get to eat more of Bedok 85 since family has shifted to Bedok as brother has managed to get the HDB rental flat! :)
Decided to try a new cafe for tonight's dinner! We went goggling online and found Lola's Cafe with high reviews. To our surprise, the queue was very long where they have this particular system to take down your contact details and will call you upon your table is about to ready. Extremely long queue where we are unable to foresee how many are ahead of us and seriously, there is like no other appealing food place around Lola's cafe.
And so, we waited for about an hour to be seated. Ordered some of the must-try dishes raving in Hungrygowhere and we were pretty much impressed by the bangers & mash! The truffles fries is decent while the remaining chicken wings and fish burger were pretty normal though. Perhaps next time we should try the brunch instead. With the man having his off day fixed for the day, i decided to take the off-in-lieu for today as well. We brought the parents to Ah Yat seafood for lunch and at the same time, enjoy the dim sum here with 40% discount. Good deal, good food and great companion. Subsequently, we decided to head to Marina Barrage after early dinner for a short session of kite-flying since it has been really long since we last fly kite. Pretty happy that we are still able to fly it up high in the sky with our little qq penguin. haha! And throughout the 2 hours time spend there, we get to see the time-lapsed from sunset to dark. A time-lapsed that i have captured and i am pretty proud of. Totally loving the time spend together. <3
Head to Furama Riverfront to redeem our Buffet dinner as a form of family gathering with Paul Sir's family. Indeed a good session together and we have all enjoyed the food as well as companion. Paul Sir loves the cold dishes as they are very fresh. Hoping to have more session next time. :)
Saw on Facebook that Santa Fe @ Stewords Riverboat is having a grilled theme this week and decided to give it a try with Paul Sir. The cost is $28++ and subject to drinks. Something to our disappointment when we talk about grilled items, there ain't no meat and most of the dishes are fishes which is more or less about it.
The bobbi-brown workshop ended earlier and Paul Sir agreed to satisfy my craving for the day at 麻辣香锅! It is his first time trying this and he love it as well! It is rather heavy flavored in taste but definitely something that goes extremely well with rice! Increases your appetite as you eat and eat non-stop! And the best about this stall in Chinatown, it is very pocket friendly as compared to those available in other places. This bowl of dish cost us about $15 with plenty of meat and vegetables. Yum Yum Yum.
Thank you Paul Sir for bringing me to satisfy my cravings :) Since we are on half day off today and Paul Sir is fetching me from work, we decided to give this famous Heng Kee's curry chicken noodle a visit! haha, more like a craving from me actually :p The whole wait took about 45 minutes before we have managed to land our hands on two bowls of noodles. The curry gravy is really delicious and definitely much better as compared to the stall upstairs that sells similar curry chicken noodle. Totally thumbs up for this noodle and i totally feel it is worth waiting for. :) Nom Nom Nom.
二哥 invited us to TCC for his birthday celebration as he gets to enjoy 50% off on his birthday month. Din't expect TCC to be a good place for main course till that day when Khim and Marilyn brought us over during our Double date. Furthermore, TCC serve good quality tea as well (non-caffeine). We ordered 4 side dishes in additional to our main course and they are all so yummy :) HAPPY BIRTHDAY 二哥! :)
Recently i have been having some strong craving for prawn noodle and Paul Sir has been really nice to fetch me here for the Hoe Nam Prawn Noodle! Woohoo!!! The prawn soup from this stall is really awesome and i love it dry especially with 鲍贝. While i am typing this entry, im craving for it again. Haha!
Kaiting has this craving to eat curry rice and she see some good reviews about the monster curry @ Ion and so, we decided to head to here for our dinner gathering session. We were a little surprised that it is not a restaurant type like Coco ichibanya house and their way of ordering is like fast food manner. After we ordered, we were allocated a table and we wait while they will serve the food. Upon heading inside, we noticed that the plate they used to serve is really big!!! We are smart enough to order two plates instead! Overall, we felt that the curry is not spicy and hot enough. Feels that coco ichibanya is much better though. But its a good gathering!!! More to come! So looking forward to Kaiting's baby!
Originally was supposed to be meeting Marilyn and Khim for dinner @ Waraku yesterday but unfortunately that the restaurant is running full house for the day and we refuses to wait. The objective to head to Wakaku for the meal is because dearest Marilyn gonna a 40% off voucher emailer from the restaurant and share the happy joy with us. Since the voucher expires today, we decided to head to Vivocity and see if we are able to bump in for a quick early dinner and who knows, we are lucky for the day as the crowd seems slow at 6pm on a Saturday. :) I think that the pricing is a little steep considering that Watami is a lot more value for money. Furthermore, Paul Sir mentioned that the ramen doesn't taste fantastic though. We think that we will not revisit this place under normal circumstances but with 40% discount, we can consider coming here again though. :)
Thanks Marilyn :) Ever since i have started Jillian Michaels's Ripped in 30 circuit training, i have been on a controlled diet for my meals. Even if it's some dinner appointment with colleagues and friends, i will be picky in the choice of food to ensure that at least i tried my best in the training and see what type of outcome i may get.
But today, i decided to follow Paul Sir for some big feast at AMK Hub and he decided on Ichiban sushi! After looking through the menus, we decided on a set meal each for both of us and add along a dumpling soup for sharing. It was my first time patronizing Ichiban sushi and i was impressed with the portion given by the restaurant. Both of us seems to be like hungry ghost feasting for our dinner. I will say that the food and price were decent and we will definitely try Ichiban sushi again. As we continue to walk around AMK Hub, we saw this newly opened ice-cream shop and we decided to have it for our dessert of the day. It is pretty special especially with the staff making the ice-cream on the spot. Yes, i mean literally on the spot. It is 0% Artificial, sugar added, coloring and stabilizer which i have no clue how they managed to make the ice-cream. All i know is that they added something that is liquid form but able to blow smoke like how dry ice does. |
