With niece and nephews coming for the celebration, we had to ensure that the place is clean and comfortable for all. But with the renovation going on in the estate, the place is especially dusty despite our dirty works were completed. We ended up having to sweep, mop and wash the place since the week before and repeated the cleaning activities on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat (actual event). Honestly, cleaning the whole house is rather tiring especially when area is huge as we have yet to have furnishings in the house. But we were glad that the event went smoothly!
Okay, less off the whining and show our happy event for our dearest Son's 2 year old birthday :)
After his super hero theme for 1 year old birthday, I decided to pick Tsum Tsum for his 2 years old birthday theme this time round. I have been searching around for gifts (for niece & nephew) as well as the banners and ideas for cake for the event. We decided to DIY a fruits cake (100% made with real fruits) as Morris's birthday Cake this year. |
AHEM, I need some credit here as well.
The cake consists of the following fruits: 1 Watermelon 1 Rock melon 1 Starfruit 1 box of green seedless grapes 1 box of blueberries 1 box of raspberries What we do: Step 1: Removed the skin of the watermelon and rock melon to the maximum fresh available. Try by cutting the top and bottom away to create the flat surface for carving the circular shape out from the melons. Step 2: Balance the watermelon (base) with chopsticks prior stacking the rock melon (middle piece). Add in the 3rd tier of the watermelon on top and secure by the chopsticks. Step 3: You can chose to use cookie cutter and create shapes with the leftover fruits. Or you can use toothpick to stick up fruits as decors. | Which in the case for Morris's Birthday, we have chosen Mickey mouse shape cookie cutter to cut out mickey mouse rock melon as decoration. We sliced up starfruit and stick it together on a toothpick with raspberries and blueberries to secure. Our original intention was to place it by the circumference of the cake but unfortunately the watermelon was smaller than expected. Looks big but actual watermelon is rather small. |
Specially DIY name stripes done by Ah Jian Uncle for Morris 's Birthday. He said he took an hour just to do these shapes and wrap the present. haha! Another present from us is the Tegu magnetic bricks. Morris has been loving to assemble items. We gonna him the big lego bricks for building and he is very much well verse in using that for building up structures. Now we let him try these wood panels which we believes, is able to give him ample rooms of imagination. To build anything he could think of. |
