Morris requested to see the Pandas again for the zoo trip this time round so we decided to cover River safari for the weekend journey as Friends of the zoo. Love the layout and structure of River safari better as it is mostly sheltered which is less humid and some of the sectors are fully air-conditioned as well. We are very fortunate this time round to see huge actions from the Pandas especially Kai Kai who was stretching up the tree to take carrot to eat.

Since we have morning to spare this weekend, we decided to head to the zoo again. While papaTan suggested to cover the area in sectors, it makes the whole journey a breeze because we no longer need to rush around hoping to complete the whole zoo and river safari within 1 day. With the membership, we can slowly walk around and stay put for events if we wishes to.
For the morning session, we went to watch performance instead! Elephants at Work & Play Show @ Elephants of Asia : 11.30am Rainforest Fights Back Show @ Shaw Foundation Amphitheatre : 12.30pm Been hearing friends talking about the Children season 2017 and decided to bring Morris there for some family session. The National Heritage Board’s annual Children’s Season Singapore returns in 2017, presenting cultural and educational experiences that will inspire, engage and educate our young audience. This year’s edition goes beyond museums and will encompass all aspects of art, culture, heritage and education. With a wide range of programmes, exhibitions and engaging family activities for children of all ages, Singapore will be the place to be for children and families to create special memories together this June! Admission is FREE for Singaporean which includes access to some of the exhibition. We visited the exhibition "WE BUILT A NATION" as well which explores the first ten pivotal years of independence (1965 – 1975) that shaped Singapore’s history, and the important roles and leadership of Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew and his team who laid the foundations for modern Singapore.
Nothing beats hanging around with the family and this is the family values which we wishes to incorporate to Morris's upbringing. We took some time off together with Er ge and Ashton to bring the grandparentsTan out for Swensen's treat. We take it as another moment to celebrate Morris's birthday as well. Look at how cheeky Morris is!
After discussing with papaTan on Morris's big 2 celebration, we decided to keep it small and invite only immediate family members. We were busy looking around venues to celebrate his Birthday, we were deciding either to pick chalets or hotel for the event. But since our home is partially ready (in terms that all ceiling work & painting works were completed) and is clean, we thought that it might be good to host for Morris's celebration. That is after taking into consideration that our lightings, fans, aircons and toilet accessories were all properly installed. With niece and nephews coming for the celebration, we had to ensure that the place is clean and comfortable for all. But with the renovation going on in the estate, the place is especially dusty despite our dirty works were completed. We ended up having to sweep, mop and wash the place since the week before and repeated the cleaning activities on Mon, Wed, Fri and Sat (actual event). Honestly, cleaning the whole house is rather tiring especially when area is huge as we have yet to have furnishings in the house. But we were glad that the event went smoothly! Okay, less off the whining and show our happy event for our dearest Son's 2 year old birthday :)
PapaTan is busy fixing Morris's birthday Present. We were surprised that something so small actually requires an hour to assemble it. Glad that the final product appeared awesome and we were very sure that Morris will love the present. :) Thanks PapaTan for being the handyman here. *As papaTan was fixing this, I am mopping the floor* AHEM, I need some credit here as well. This time round as we are only expecting over 10 pax including Paul, Morris and myself. We source around for food options and decided to pick Meihao99's Mini buffet for the Morris's Birthday celebration. After using them numerous times for different occasions, we are comfortable with their food quality and quantity. The delivery time for the mini buffet is as per our request and warm food were packed as per photo above. This is what we like about Meihao99, They also provides rubbish bags and disposable utensils for us. FIL was singing praises about the delicious food range, he told us to order these for CNY's celebration as well.
Signing off from a really happy boy,
Morris Tan. |
