Gestational Diabetes Mellitus – A Common Pregnancy Condition
It is a condition in which the body does not produce enough of the hormone insulin to control sugar levels during pregnancy. It is a common complication of pregnancy ranging from 10% to 20% of all pregnant women in Singapore. This condition puts both mother and child at serious risks. It is dreadful because we have to fast overnight without food and the glucose drink is really sweet which upsets the stomach. And having to wait for total of 3 hours before we can consume food again is a torture for me. Also, a Déjà vu moment for me as I vividly recalled the same moment with papaTan having his Delifrance Breakfast ~ LOL! | We are glad that all goes well and we passed the OGTT test with flying colors. I was rewarded with a curry puff from Delifrance while we waited for Gynae visit with Uncle Tham. |
