This leaves a really good impression to both of us as we feel he is very down-to-earth, extremely friendly PD and definitely one who is very fatherly. He gave us the same feeling Uncle Tham gave us and we feel comfortable to have our son in his good hands. We were blessed that BabyTan's jaundice level is relatively low at 7.2 and he is safe to discharge from hospital on day 3 together with us. We were also informed by Dr. Ong to sun our precious from 7-9am or 6-7pm. Simply just put him near to a window which has direct sunlight or bring him down for a walk. We were also told to remember to cover his eyes as newborn's eyes are very sensitive while sunbathing him.
Brought BabyTan to Dr. Ong's clinic today to review on his jaundice level. Poor boy needs to be prick to withdraw blood specimens for testing of Jaundice. We were told that readings will be ready in 2 hours and babyTan needs to be below reading of 14 in order to be safe from admission back to TMC for Photo-therapist session. We were so worried that he might fall out of the given range but thank god he was being tested as 10.2 only. We were told to continue to sunbathing him as and when possible to ensure that the jaundice level will not increase.
Sidenote, Dr. Ong apparently is the only PD available in the clinic and he is also the first doctor that i have seen who will walk out from his room to call upon patients and actually open & close his room's door for his patients. We love him a lot for his care and concerns for our precious. This definitely comes with a price tag as we felt his short consultation fee of $80 is a hefty sum though. But nevertheless, we were glad that babyTan is safe from Jaundice. :)
